Ann has had a love of arts and crafts all her life, always wanting to create beautiful things. After two years at the London College of Fashion she started working at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, in the principals’ wardrobe department.
With a yearning to see the world she worked and travelled throughout Africa and returned to the UK to work in scientific publishing when her arts and crafts had to become a hobby.
She discovered calligraphy in 1985, gaining a Diploma in Calligraphy and Illuminating, creating a manuscript book, which culminated in writing a book on her journey with Elizabethan Roundels, and producing the designs in stitch.
She is now retired, but never stops being involved in embroidery and textiles and is a member of the Embroiderers Guild in the UK.
