StitchArt’s Founder

Anneke

Anneke is the visionary behind StitchArt. She is passionate about the decorative arts and has been stitching since her teens, turning her hand to needlepoint, machine and hand embroidery, beadwork, knitting and sewing. She is an entrepreneur and mentor for women founders, with a rich history in the arts to complement her business experience. She has studied art history at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and completed a City & Guilds Creative Embroidery qualification in Britain. She previously owned a handcrafted accessories business where she designed, made, and sold handbags, jewellery, clothing, and knitted accessories.  She shares her time between England and South Florida, inspired by needlework trends and traditions on both sides of the pond.

Ann F Hall

Ann has had a love of arts and crafts all her life, always wanting to create beautiful things.  After two years at the London College of Fashion she started working at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, in the principals’ wardrobe department. With a yearning to see the world she worked and travelled throughout Africa and returned to the UK to work in scientific publishing when her arts and crafts had to become a hobby. She discovered calligraphy in 1985, gaining a Diploma in Calligraphy and Illuminating, creating a manuscript book, which culminated in writing a book on her journey with Elizabethan Roundels, and producing the designs in stitch. She is now retired, but never stops being involved in embroidery and textiles and is a member of the Embroiderers Guild in the UK.
